Background　　临空经济是继海运、天然###路###路之后，第###市发展浪潮的经济发展形式和主要推动力。近年来，###市临空经济区条例》和《广州临空经济发展“十四五”规划》先后出台，广州白云国际机场三期扩建工程也在加快建设中，依托国家临空经济示范区、国家级综合保税区、空港型国家物流枢纽、广东自贸区联动发展片区等已有的国家、省功能平台，广州空港经济区将迎来新的发展契机，加快构建以门户枢纽为核心****局。　　The aviation economy, following ocean shipping, natural canals, railways, highways, represents the economic development form serves as a critical driver of the fifth wave of urban development. In recent years, Guangzhou rolled out the Regulations of Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone the 14th Five-Year Plan for Guangzhou’s Airport Economic Development in Guangzhou while accelerating the construction of the Phase III expansion project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Leveraging on the existing national provincial functional platforms, such as the National Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, National Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Aerotropolis National Logistics Hub, Guangdong Free Trade Zone Linkage Development Zone, Guangzhou Aerotropolis Development District(GADD) will usher in new development opportunities quicken its paces in establishing a new development pattern centered on gateway hubs.　　借助国际视野和经验，充分发挥广州白云国际机场的枢纽优势，明确未来空港经济区的发展方向，统筹机场周边9平方公里区域的规划建设。竞赛面向全球公开邀请具有相关规划设计和产业策划经验的机构参与，集思广益、创新进取，征集具有国际一流水准的规划设计成果，引领空港经济区发展，打造具备更高开放水平的门户枢纽片区，形成现代化高质量发展新标杆。　　In this context, the Competition is launched to draw on international perspective experience. It intends to fully leverage the hub advantages of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to identify the future development direction of GADD, coordinate the planning construction of the 9 square kilometer area around the airport. Open to design firms with relevant experiences in urban planning industrial planning from around the world, the Competition encourages brainstorming innovations, aiming to solicit world’s first-class planning design proposals to lead the development of GADD, create a gateway hub area with a higher level of openness, form a new benchmark for modern high-quality development.　　本次竞赛由广州空港经济区管理委员会主办，广东元正招****公司为竞赛组织代理服务单位。　　The Competition is hosted by the GADD District Administration, with Guangdong Yuanzheng Bidding & Purchase Co., Ltd acting as its Organizing Consultant.
